New year, new possibilities! We all get to the end of the year, and go through the process of thinking about what we’ll do differently, in the coming year. We set new goals, plan new holidays, think about what we’ll do better, and what the new year will hold. This is the great thing about entering a new year, and as we start off 2019, here are some things to think about when buying or selling your home.
1. Listing your home before the Spring Rush; There is a thought that the Spring market is the best time to list your home, because it shows the best, and that’s when buyers are looking. The Spring market is a great time to list your home, because the snow is melting, the days are getting longer, and people like getting out to view homes. But....if you have made the choice that you’re going to be selling your home, then why wait? There are always a large amount of buyers out there, that are ready to buy, when the right house hits the market, and you have an opportunity to beat the rush!
2. Getting ready to purchase: As we enter the new year, it’s important to make sure you have all your ducks in a row, so that you’re ready to buy when that perfect house comes onto the market. This means getting pre-approved with your bank or Mortgage Broker, and meeting with your Realtor to discuss the plan, and what your hopes and dreams are.
3. You’re buying a home, subject to your house selling: When you’re in the market to purchase a new home, but you need to sell your current home first, it’s important to make sure that your house is ready to sell. When we take on a new listing, we get cleaning, stagers, and professional photography done. These are all things that take some time, but we can do before you’re ready to list, so that when the time comes, your house is ready!
The moral of the story is this: Whether you’re looking to buy or sell a home in the next few months, the better prepared you are, going into it, the better results we’ll get. I’m here if you have questions or are wanting to discuss next steps. Happy New Year!!!
