Just because it’s still winter outside doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of things to see and do in Cochrane. Here are some upcoming events that are close to our home listings in Cochrane for you to take advantage of in order to start the New Year off right.
The Chinook Film Group begins showing movies again after taking the month of December off. This group presents an independent film on the third Wednesday of every month, which will be on the 15th this year. The showing will take place at 7 p.m. at the Cochrane Movie House, and tickets for the event are $10 per person.
Cochrane’s annual Kimmett Cup three-on-three hockey tournament will take place on January 17 and 18th at Milford Pond. The tournament is held in honor of Lindsay Leigh Kimmett, with proceeds from the tournament going toward her memorial foundation. This charity hockey tournament is currently accepting team registrations. People of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in order to raise money for the foundation, which offers scholarships and provides humanitarian aid among other things.
The Cochrane Pipe Band will be holding a benefit on January 25, 2014 at the Cochrane RancheHouse. This outing includes dinner, dancing, live entertainment, scotch tasting and a silent auction. Band members would also welcome new members to join their recreational band, which plays locally in parades and community events, and meets together every Saturday to practice and fellowship with one another.
